Olive Leaf Extract
We’re all familiar with olives as a delicious hors d'oeuvre, or the healthy, edible oil pressed from the seed of this fruit. But the Olive tree doesn’t stop there with its life-promoting benefits - it provides even more!
For thousands of years, the leaves of the Olive tree (Olea europaea) have been used as a natural health remedy in the Mediterranean region. It is used for a wide variety of health complaints, and is of particular benefit in strengthening the immune system and helping it to overcome infections.
Olive Leaf extract is a powerful antimicrobial that, along with Oregano oil, is often used as a first line treatment for Candida. It is also effective against many bacterial and viral infections; one of its constituents, oleuropein, may actually prevent viruses and bacteria from replicating.
Olive Leaf may also help to lower blood sugar levels, especially in adult-onset (type 2) diabetes. Its blood-sugar lowering abilities are attributed to two mechanisms: improvement of insulin release from the pancreas, along with improved uptake of glucose by the cells.
Olive Leaf has also been used traditionally for helping to lower cholesterol and blood pressure.
As if all of this weren't enough, Olive Leaf is loaded with natural antioxidants to help protect you against the damaging effects of free-radicals!
