CALENDULA - SUNSHINE IN A FLOWER!

Calendula (Calendula officinalis): Also known as pot marigold, calendula is one of the easiest plants to grow, and one of the most versatile. It's a medicine chest in itself!

Best known as a remedy for skin problems, the sunny, deep-orange flowers are used to make a healing salve that can be applied externally to cuts, wounds, and burns. It can be taken as a tea or tincture to help the healing of wounds internally, and for cleansing & detoxifying. Calendula is also a great antifungal, so the cooled tea can be used for vaginal yeast infections, too. Why, you can even forecast the weather with calendula! The flowers close when wet weather is said to be approaching.
