Do You Know What Negative Calories Are?

If you’re trying to lose some weight and eat healthier you should know what this means.

Negative calories means you are burning more calories that what you are actually eating. There are a handful of fruits and veggies out there that when you eat them your body burns more calories then what you just consumed. For example, if you were to eat a 100 calories worth of celery, through the digestion process of breaking down the nutrients and absorbing them the body may use up 110 calories in energy to do so. This is what makes them negative calories. (Not based on factual numbers, for explanation only).

In theory adding these foods to a well-balanced diet can help you burn more calories even when sitting still. This doesn’t mean go ahead and enjoy that extra donut in the break room because you had some negative calories for lunch. Just try substituting some of the following foods with lunch or dinner, and after time see where you measure up.

The Following Are Considered Negative Calories Foods:

Veggies:
Celery
Asparagus
Cabbage
Broccoli
Cucumber
Turnip

Fruit:
Aprciot
Blackberries
Peaches
Plums
Strawberries
Watermelon
